Kyle McCutchen is a lifelong martial artist. He has competed in karate, amateur boxing, and mixed martial arts. He has studied under notable trainers Charlie Pearson and Aric Wiseman, as well as ranking in Jiu Jitsu from white to purple belt under Professor Mike Simpson. In 2015, Kyle was awarded the rank of black belt by Professor John Sylvester.
Kyle believes in learning all aspects of Jiu Jitsu, including traditional gi, no gi, self defense, fundamentals, and advanced techniques. He runs adult classes at Kindred Jiu Jitsu.
John Sylvester is a 2nd degree Black Belt under Gracie Barra and a Seattle native that has spent the entirety of his 22 years on the mat in the great Northwest. Married for 21 years, John and Kim are also actively involved in their son’s athletic endeavors.
John’s classes are intensely paced while implementing basic movements and fundamental move sets. With that said, the focus is on safety and having fun. Very welcoming for even the first day student and scaled to the individual.
Alex Glavin is a United States Navy veteran and immediately established himself as an apt martial artist upon starting his Jiu Jitsu journey at Kindred Jiu Jitsu. Alex has a knack for precise fundamental Jiu Jitsu and quickly became a leader at the school, often assisting newer students. He uses his skill in connecting with kids to inspire future Jiu Jitsu belt holders while managing our kids program. In 2016, Alex was promoted to purple belt by Professor John Sylvester.
